Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Questers and Planners groups.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which players will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
